FAQs

Got a question about Code Orange Days?  You can submit them to the Code Orange Questions Form (link).

  • Will my child be marked absent if I don't have power?
If the power is out acrossed the division, Prince William County Public Schools will issue a Code Red Day where no instruction will happen.  If here is a pocket area of no power, those students will be marked excused.
  • Will the computers have charging cables?
All Prince William County Public Schools devices have been provided with a charger and/or adapter.  Students are to take the charger and/or adapters home with their devices.  It is not recommended for families to purchase chargers and/or adapters.
  • Will virtual learning occur each Code Orange Day?
    Yes.
  • For those students who may not have internet at home, will they be expected to get internet in advance?  The assumption is that kids at home already have internet.
In the Back to School packet that was completed at the beginning of the school year, families were required to answer a question about internet availability at home.  Wi-Fi hot spots are provided for those families without internet access at home.  If you feel this applies to you, please contact us to update your information.
  • Is it looking like there will be more Code Orange days vs. Code Red days?
The decision for the county to call a Code Orange day vs. a Code Red day is based off of several weather-related factors.
